On the 12th November 2014, VitrA was presented with the Design Classic award for its Istanbul range at Pro Publishing’s Designer Kitchen and Bathroom awards.
The best of the UK’s bathroom and kitchen market gathered at the impressive pop-up venue Supernova in London for the prestigious lunch gala and award ceremony. The Designer Kitchen and Bathroom Magazine’s Editor Martin Allen-Smith welcomed VitrA UK’s Managing Director Levent Giray to the stage to receive the award and make a speech. The significance of the Istanbul range was commented on in addition to its fascinating journey from Ross Lovegrove’s conception of the original idea, to its final completion. The remarkable red D-shaped award is now on display in VitrA’s showroom in Didcot.
VitrA is also very proud to announce that in the same week it was also shortlisted for the House Beautiful award’s Best Bathroom Product of 2014.
VitrA Bathrooms is part of the Eczac?ba?? Group, one of Turkey’s most prominent industrial groups. Founded in 1942 as Eczac?ba?? Sanitaryware, the VitrA brand was born in 1966 and is still Turkey’s leading sanitaryware manufacturer today.
In recent years VitrA has expanded into international markets and over 50% of VitrA’s total output is sold outside of Turkey. From 16 production facilities in Turkey, Germany, France and Russia, VitrA produces over 5 million pieces of sanitaryware which are distributed to over 75 countries on five continents.
In addition, it also manufactures complementary bathroom furniture, baths, brassware and bathroom accessories. VitrA is also proud to announce that it is now a member of the Bathroom Manufacturer’s Association (August 2013).
